Delivering justice and hope

Doug Ammar speaking on stage

Georgia Justice Project (GJP) is reimagining the way our country supports  and represents individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system. This Atlanta-based organization serves the most impoverished members of its community who are also at the highest risk for criminal involvement. It seeks to get judges and prosecutors to see their roles differently and to see GJP’s clients differently by carefully considering the whole person and the whole situation before issuing rote sentences.

And it’s working. Each year, Georgia Justice Project helps over 500 individuals get their records expunged or corrected, and its clients are also ten times less likely to be convicted than the national average.
